Ice is the one ingredient that touches nearly everything we drink, yet is often an afterthought. We enjoy quality spirits, mixers, fresh juices and garnishes but somehow stop short when it comes to the choice of ice. When we shake or stir a cocktail, the ice can add 25-30% dilution to the drink; quality matters. Your ice is responsible for chilling, diluting and helping to balance your drink. It can also add beauty, becoming a stunning centerpiece to any drink.


How do I use Abstract Ice?

Abstract Ice works perfectly in all of your favorite beverages. From a simple sparkling water to craft cocktails or spirits sipped neat, Abstract Ice will elevate the experience. It’s also ideal when preparing drinks through shaking or stirring. Play around with different shapes and sizes in unique glassware (check out the product section for more on this).

Tempering your ice is very important. Place the ice in your glass for 3 minutes before pouring anything over it. This is tempering, and prevents shocking the ice and creating cracks (although that can be beautiful in its own right). Keep ice in its packaging or a sealed container to best preserve the ice while it’s in your freezer.


How long does Abstract Ice last in transit?

We designed our packaging and shipping methods to protect your ice on its journey from our facilities to your home. To keep the ice fully frozen and in perfect condition, we recommend getting it into your freezer as soon as it arrives, however it is shipped with insulated packaging and dry ice to ensure that the ice will be in perfect storing and drinking conditions for several hours after delivery (depending on weather and shipping conditions).


What's the shelf life?

Store in original packaging or a sealed container in your freezer to extend the shelf life. We suggest enjoying the clear ice within four weeks from when you open the sealed trays for the optimal experience, taste, and beauty. (It will hold up indefinitely while frozen, it’s ice after all… but may become impacted by the air and aromas in your freezer).


How long does it take for the cubes to melt?

Great question. It depends on the type of drink, glass, ice and climate. Surface area is also a consideration with ice. To add less dilution over time into your drink or spirit, we suggest using a single large cube. The Rock or Infinity Sphere works great in this way.


How do you make the ice?

Our ice making process uses patented technology engineered in-house that freezes perfect ice more quickly and efficiently than outdated methods. Our innovations reduce the freeze time from three days to just a few hours, in fact! This allows for far less energy wasted and the finest results.
